Strep throat

I was hoping the high risk of getting sick would dramatically decrease when I moved out of the dorms but the reality is, no matter what, you’re gonna constantly be surrounded by people in college and germs will be in the air. It seems like everyone is sick at once at a university and strep is the illness currently going around. First my friend Gabriella had it. She went MIA when she found out she had it but she was always at our apartment right before and could not stop sleeping. Then, Jessica who freaking sleeps in the same room as me said her throat was starting to hurt. This was the night of Barstool and she decided not to go because of it and then the next day it all the sudden escalated to an extreme sore throat. She couldn’t even talk. She seriously looked like she was on the brink of death I felt so bad for her. She laid in bed all day and finally got an appointment with health services the next day. They gave her so many meds and she was basically in tears trying to swallow at all. She was already going home for the weekend on Thursday but ended up going a day early on Wednesday. I don’t blame her because I know how hard it is to get through a sickness without the help of your mom. So she went home and got better and over the weekend I literally slept 9-10 hours every night and sometimes taking naps. When I drink I usually can hardly sleep so I was freaked out over that but was hoping it was just the weather. Then I woke up this morning and my glands are swollen and my right side (glands, throat and ear) all ache. I luckily got an appointment for health services tomorrow so hopefully I can get meds and beat it early. Being sick in college is the worsttttt. You still have to go to class and there’s no one to take care of you. To prevent illness as best as you can, my best advice would be to wash your hands/use hand sanitizer every single chance you can and drink lots of water. I’m praying for a speedy recovery aka before the weekend hehe
