Packing for College: Note to Self

Today, my older brother, who is a junior in college, moved into a room near his university to attend a summer term. The room was not very clean, did not have ventilation, did not have a lock, and was infested with bugs. It was also very pricey! A tip for all of you guys if you ever decide to move off campus: (although this should be a given) Make sure you personally check out the room/apartment before you move in or pay your deposit. The house my brother is at is owned by the friend of his friend, so he trusted her judgement, but that was obviously not a very good choice. Nothing personal, really, but you deserve to get your money’s worth!

Another tip that is, again, probably very obvious but unfortunately frequently overlooked: PACK IN ADVANCE; DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! I cannot stress this enough! It also doesn’t hurt to make a thorough list of important things to pack! Without the proper attention to this crucial step in moving on to college, you could potentially forget a few significant necessities that later affects your experience! Of course if you happen to forget one or two things, it’s not the end of the world since at one point you will be returning home, but why go through the hardships of regret and impatience when you could have just planned ahead?

That, my friends, is a note to myself, and to you all as well! ^^
