Drinking games are a magical thing that everyone should partake in. I wanted to mention some of the more popular ones that my group of friends and I partake in. Some are popular in general and some we just made up. Enjoy…
Flip Cup: If you don’t know what flip cup is, I am shocked BUT I’m here for you. There is two teams, each on one side of the table. You matched up with someone across from you so that you know the two teams are even. Fill up your cup a little with beer and the first person on each team starts. You start by pressing your cup on the table, cheering the other person’s cup, touch table, chug (down, up, down, drink). After they chugged their beer, they put their cup (open side up) on the table and flip it until the open top is flipped onto the table. Then, the next person goes and it goes down the line until the last person finishes.
Beer pong: another extremely popular one that can be seen at pretty much every college party. Two teams of two of each side of the table (far ends). You set up 6 cups into a diamond, all touching, either full of beer or if you want to be sanitary fill it up with water and just drink from your own personal cup. You shoot with a pong ball and if you get it into one of the other team’s cup, they have to drink and take away that cup. Each partner goes once and then it’s the other teams turn. First team to get it in all 6 cups wins. There are a bunch of little rules that differ from who you’re playing with so set some ground rules before you play.
Black Betty drinking game: Not sure if we made this up or it’s none but it can be applied to a variety of songs. Black Betty by Ram Jam is our favorite though. Everyone has a full beer and is in a circle. One person starts drinking when they first say “Black Betty” and don’t stop until the next time they say it again. Then, the person next to them starts and the pattern goes on and on throughout the whole song.
Boyfriend drinking game: Okay, I know we made this up. Listen to “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber and every time he says “Boyfriend” take a shot of beer.
Power hour: Take a shot of beer every minute for an hour. There are power hour songs on youtube that are an hour long and every time a minute is up, the song changes. You can always just have a timer, though. That way is a lot less fun though.
Chandelier: Place a center cup, filled up to the top with beer. Every person playing has a cup that they put around the center cup, in a circle, so they’re all touching. The individual players’ cups are only filled a little bit with beer. One person bounces a pong ball, if it goes into your cup, you drink. If it goes into the center cup, every chugs their beer and break off into a game of flip cup. The last person to flip has to chug the center couple.
Mexican hat dance: You must be sitting at a table. There’s two shot glasses, starting at the opposite ends of the circle. You have to bounce a quarter into the shot glass and then you can pass it off to the person next to you. The goal of the game is to get the quarter in before the next person can get there’s in. So whoever you’d pass to normally needs to not get it in before you do to get them out and then they drink. If you get the quarter in the first time, you get to decide where to put the shot glass. This is where you can most likely get people out because you put it behind the other person with the shot glass.
Kings: This is a card game where there is a rule for every card. Here are the rules: http://www.drinkinggames.com/game.php/34/Kings+Cup
Hope you can use some of these games to liven up your future parties! Enjoy!
