"Although most sources advise an extended warranty is a waste of money, it seems laptops tend to break right after the first year of use. We recently had that happen with a HP Pavillion - since we had a two-year extended warranty ($119) HP sent a new unit and we kept our existing warranty." - Dave

"I'm conflicted about spending that much money ($1100) on a Macbook pro BUT, when is the next time I'll really buy a computer, for me, probably a while. I have used them before and after I got used to it, fell in love! So I think I will take the plunge and buy it. I guess the additions to my closet will have to wait." - Kelly
