College drinking games are a way college students can break the ice and interact with other students, plus they are just plain fun. Simple tasks such as throwing a ping pong ball into a plastic cup filled with beer (beer pong), throwing a frisbee to knock over a bottle (frisbeer), card games, and flipping a plastic cup (flip cup) upside down become extremely fun if alcohol is involved.
Some college drinking games are not actually "games", but rules to follow in order to pre-game or "get buzzed" before going out. This gets alcohol into the system so when college students show up to a college party they are not sober, and already "feeling good". These types of college drinking games include: college keg stands (where a college student is held up-side down and drinks right from the tap), and power hour (where students drink at regular intervals such as every minute take a shot of beer for one full hour). College party games such as power hour usually takes place in a dorm or a house before going out, where a keg stand typically happens at a party.
Card games such as asshole, bullshit, kings, circle of death, drunk driver, give one take one, high or low and up and down the river are a few examples of drinking games that can be played with cards. These games are typically played around a coffee table sitting on couches or chairs. These games are more for chill parties where its not packed, and you can actually hear other people.
