American college football

College football is a sport (american football) played between two colleges or universities. College football in the United States dates back to 1869. Currently college football is made up of a few subdivisions and many conferences. College american football is very popular in the united states and current students, faculty and alumni take pride in the football team that represents their college or university.

College Football Subdivision Scholarships

  • Football Bowl Series (formerly 1-A) - 85 scholarships
  • Football Championship Series (formerly 1-AA) - 65 scholarships
  • D-II - 0 scholarships
  • D-III - 0 scholarships

Schools are not required to give scholarships in 1-A and 1-AA so in 1-AA there are many programs that do not offer scholarships and consider themselves the equivalent of D-III programs.
