Hole in the Wall

Posted July 19th, 2009 at 09:12 PM by emily (Tips, Tricks & Experiences from a Flourishing College Girl)

You will reach that point in the year when you are low on cash, tired of the on-campus options, lacking the time, space and utensils to cook your own meal; yet looking for something delicious to satisfy your grumbling stomach. Hmm… Well, sure, you could run by Taco Bell or McDonald’s and pick up some run-of-the-mill fast food; but that will get old fast too. My advice?... Head on over to that little hole in the wall restaurant that you have been so weary to visit. More often than not, those random,...

Dirty Clothes

Posted July 17th, 2009 at 11:28 AM by emily (Tips, Tricks & Experiences from a Flourishing College Girl)

Oh the joy of doing laundry! I mean I have so much extra time while I am away at school, so doing laundry fills up that void just perfectly (sense the sarcasm?). Well, it is something that has to be done, so why not make the most of it! I have actually found the “wurr” of the laundry room to be quite soothing when I’m trying to study. Posted July 15th, 2009 at 02:02 PM by emily (Tips, Tricks & Experiences from a Flourishing College Girl)

Ceramic is not an option. I lived in a dorm my freshman year, where my roommate and I shared a sink about the size of a basketball (weird comparison?! ) and had beds that were about 2 feet apart. My not-so-tidy roommate chose to eat her beef-a-roni out of a ceramic bowl and then would leave it in the baby sink for a few days (piling it high with coffee mugs and drinking glasses) before finally cleaning up all of the grimy dishware. Interesting, considering that we were supposed to wash...

Colors of the Rainbow

Posted July 14th, 2009 at 06:37 PM by emily (Tips, Tricks & Experiences from a Flourishing College Girl)

If you were to take a peek inside of my notebook, you would see a rainbow of colors. Why?! Well, I have found that I just can’t study my notes until they have been highlighted. I mean staring at notes and trying to drill them into your brain is hard enough, no? Let’s at least make it better to look at! haha Not to mention, that you are forced to go over every word of your notes and decide what is most important.

Many of my friends are not quite the highlighter connoisseurs that I...
