Summer school : yay or nay?

Work, school or just relaxing? How do you like to spend your summer? Personally, I prefer a combo of the three. This summer, I chose a three week mini-mester (aka Maymester) to get a solid 3 hours of History checked off of my very long list. The first History class I was required to have was taken at a major University and involved intense essay exams, long lectures and pop quizzes over information that did not interest me very much.
The second class, which I took at a community college, was quick and simply got the job done. I can’t tell you how much I would advise taking mini-mesters. Yes, the classes are 3 hours long, five days a week. But, hang in there for 15 days and you are DONE! It feels great!
However, summer should be spent enjoying your friends and family as well. Especially for diligent students that stress themselves out all year long. Take a vacation, sleep in until your internal alarm goes off (11AM anyone?!), spend all day shopping , playing golf or doing whatever interests you…
