Take it to the people!

If you are AT ALL health conscious or consider yourself a foodie/cook/kitchen aficionado, then the dining hall is probably the one thing that you despise about living on campus. Because, it couldn’t possibly be the proximity to classes or meeting new people every time you turn around that drives you crazy… Burgers, quesadillas, wraps the size of your head, pre-made sandwiches with who knows what sandwiched between two slices of white bread… yum!?
Some of you are shaking your head at me (although, I can’t see you, so that’s a little pointless), thinking that I am totally wrong. If so, then you better take a moment of silence and appreciate your dining hall. Yupp…do it!
Because, believe it or not, having a salad bar that is sub-par does not make up for the lack of healthy food options...There are so many other great things besides salads in this world!
Now, here is the fun part. If you are in the same boat as I am, contact the hospitality services via phone (or email) and make some suggestions as to what you would like to see. I have contacted the foodie people over here multiple times before and more often than not, I saw changes. For one, they started to offer more than just SmartOnes (blah!) in the way of frozen food. Individual Kashi Cereal has also started popping up. You would have thought I won the lottery the first day that I saw those. It’s the little things in life, no?!
Here are a few more suggestions that I plan on bringing to their attention later today:
I don’t want to overwhelm them, so we’ll leave it there for now!
What changes are you looking to see? Have you voiced your opinion? That’s the first step on the road to…BETTER FOOD!

Here are a few more suggestions that I plan on bringing to their attention later today:
- Campbell’s Soup at Hand is offered. In one flavor. Sometimes two. This is a perfect item for college kids on the run. Please offer more varieties to keep things interesting. Perhaps they could kick things up a notch and bring in some of the soups that are in the microwavable bowls. What a dream…
- SmartOnes frozen meals are offered, which I could care less for; but SmartOnes desserts are basically the best thing since sliced bread and they are nowhere to be found. I’d love to use my dining bucks on them, as opposed to my real bucks. (As if dining bucks grow on trees…)
I don’t want to overwhelm them, so we’ll leave it there for now!
