Do you really need that?

Let me say from experience that your dorm room is more than likely going to be tom thumb tiny compared to your room back home. Therefore, you can draw the obvious conclusion that you don’t need to bring everything that you own.
Some things I brought and never needed my first year…
You also don’t need to bring everything in your closet either. Sure laundry is a pain and many people wait until their hamper is taking over half of their room before lugging it all to the laundry room; but you are not going to have as much time as you think to put together a cute outfit every day, girls. That doesn’t mean you should just throw on a T-shirt every day. You never know who you’ll run into.
Some things I brought and never needed my first year…
- An over abundance of clothes & shoes
- A bathing suit (I live in a hot climate but go to school where it is cold as ice for a majority of the year!)
- Too many pictures/picture frames…not enough shelves and ledges to prop them up on!
- Tupperware (who knows why I had this!)
- A Decorative Lamp…not much light and took up my limited space
