Workin’ for the Weekend

Posted August 4th, 2009 at 10:25 AM by emily

I am currently standing behind the counter of my local frozen yogurt shop, where I was privileged to find a job this summer and it has me thinking…should I get a job when I move back on campus?

My freshman year, I was scared enough (haha)and felt overwhelmed, without the stress and time that comes with a new job. However, I now feel as though I am fully capable of working somewhere on/near campus while still succeeding with my studies. Then again, in the back of my mind, I know that a part time job will leave my organized self feeling frazzled while trying to balance school, work and friends. Therefore, I think that I will make school my sole focus (once again) this upcoming year. Some people have to work during school to pay for rent and what not and, for that, I commend them. Will you be working during the school year? Where are you planning on working?

I think working on campus would be best, considering as you are already going to be there. Also, they probably have perks and scholarships that other jobs will not provide. Then again, working at our local Keva Juice would be my first choice because I already know them quite well and it looks like fun. Haha Don’t you hate it when people say that…”I bet it would be fun to work here!” I used to work in the clothing section of a department store and people would say that as they walked out of the dressing room…then I would go clean up the piles of clothes that were heaped all over the floor…How Fun!
