From floor meetings to business meetings, being a freshman is packed with tons of activites to get you used to the campus! Floor meetings are designed to get you aware of all the rules of the dorm: no drinking (that they "know of"), no loud music, no guests unless roommate approves, etc. Of course all of this is said by your residence assistant, aka RA. My RA is a senior this year and doesn't do much but knock on everyones door before activities and end those meetings early. Anyway, on to the business ...
My roommate finally moved in this morning...although I thought it'd be awkward, it wasn't at all. We clicked from the start and it's totally comfortable. If you're open and talkative, I feel like you really can't go THAT wrong. This is the day where you truly do change from a child to an adult.. to think I won't have to answer to anyone- ALL responsibility is on me. It's a crazy (and kind of scary) thought. As I moved into my dorm room today, so many things were running through my mind. See, I'm very close with my family- I love them all to death, I ADORE my three pets (a dog, cat, and fish), have AWESOME friends, and an amazing boyfriend.
