College Students Can Win Scholarships, Free Trips and Stuff

Win $50,000 + a Trip to SXSW 2011

Raise the Rate is a crowdsourcing Facebook contest targeting college students. TIAA-CREF wants to position their brand distinctively in the market as progressive thought-leader and trusted advisor that promotes financial literacy for the greater good. They are interested in tapping into their ‘prospects of tomorrow’ and current clients to understand what solutions and needs will be relevant in 5 years. To do this they are challenging college students to come up with innovative ideas to help increase America’s low personal savings rate.

The Grand Prize is $50,000 plus a trip to SXSW 2011. We will also be giving away $15,000 to the fan favorite as well as a $25,000 endowment to the College or University affiliated with the most contest submissions. An impressive judging panel has been assembled to chose the winner. They are Roger Ferguson, the CEO of TIAA-CREF; Maria Bartiromo, co-host of the CNBC program “Closing Bell”; Aaron Patzer, founder of Mint.com; and Dan Ariely, author of Predictably Irrational.
